The web is evil.

The web is more and more an open place where writers put up their thoughts, companies gain money thru advertising and webdesigners charge crazy rates to create fabulous eyecandy. And, oh yeah, that's right, there are alos some evil people out there on the net. Those who don't want you do enjoy, but want to stand in your way, taking over your blogs and websites by abusing the beautiful code you paid for.
Over the weekend, thousands of legitimate English-language Italian Web sites fell victimlinks to one line of code. Taking advantage of the trust the users have in the sites they visit, the malicious code silently redirects browsers via JavaScript to servers containing a variety of drive-by exploits.(News.com)
The script uses several exploits in browsers and Iframs code to reproduce itself. it is therefore fas less succesfull than certain other viruses or attacks weve seen on our planet. What do these hackers want ?
the new software can then be used to steal personal information or enlist a compromised machine in attacks on other machines
What can we do about it ? Not much. Stay on your latest patch level in your browser. That's all we can do. If you're a coder, make sure your Iframe code is clean.
