Google Blogger Template Designer

Google has mailed the users of Blogger in Draft service that they can now access the Blogger Template Designer feature on their account. This service has been under testing for sometime now and is now available to all the users who are using Blogger Draft.

Blogger Template Designer gives users a lot more freedom to design the look and feel of their Google-hosted blogs. Users can change colors, titles, background images from hundreds of stock photos and there's a drag-and-drop interface to shuffle pieces of the layout. There are 15 templates to start with and custom blog layouts with one, two or three columns.

The templates tool supports professional designs, prebuilt templates and a color control to alter the blog's palette of colors. Those familiar with CSS and HTML will find the ability to integrate stock photos and custom background scenes, too. There are 15 templates, hundreds of background images from iStockphoto, and custom colors, fonts and blog layouts with one, two or three columns. One new feature lets people change the color palette of the blog with a color slider. Every template allows users to choose different body layouts with up to four columns. In the template designer, users can also change the size and number of the columns on their blogs and edit the design of their blogs' footers. For now, Google won't allow users to upload their own background images yet, but advanced users can always use the CSS code to point to their own images.

This is a much-needed overhaul for the service, which attracts 300 million readers a month.
