Kathy Sierra, the author of Creating Passionate Users, a good and skillfull writer, as received several death threats on her blog. Without going into detail, the threads are scary enough to make my skin crawl, and hey, I'm just an average guy enjoying life. I started wondering why she received the threats. Is she so hated by some that they would actually go that far ?
I started to slide down a very bad path (and I'm showing you only a snippet of what was actually posted and sent to me), but held it together until two days ago, March 24.
I haven't copied that snipet here as I am disgusted with it and I don't want to credit the writer – what on earth is going on ?
The only thing I can do is callout to you, my dear readers. Help Kathy out. If you have any information about the people who made the threats, go to the police with that information. Ignore their posts, websites, blogs and such. If you are a moderator, site owner or something similar, block and ban these people and their comments. This is wrong. Kathy is terrified and stays indoors while she has never done anything to offend anyone. Help her !
